Temporary Recycling Art workSHops is an ongoing collaborative project conceived by Nina and Boris Chesakov. Our mission is to facilitate exchanges of ideas about the possibilities of trash reuse. We would like to define trash as a “homeless” material. It is the recyclable materials that deviate from the reclamation process, such as bottles and cans on the side of the road; potentially recyclable/reusable stuff like biodegradable waste and construction debris; and anything else that has worn out its use as a thing but still retains its materiality. We think that all of this can be reused, repurposed, or recycled in ways that are environmentally low-impact, with creative results, and perhaps fun and generative in the process.
